Austin Habitat Volunteer Day: Building Homes and Building Community

At BuildFax, we know how important safe, stable, and affordable housing is to our community, and we’re thrilled to work with Austin Habitat for Humanity to help build homes for families in need. The team enjoyed a sunny day of hard work this week framing up walls, caulking, sawing, and maneuvering roof panels. This was BuildFax’s third Habitat build total but the first build in Austin. It’s been a fantastic way to not only get to build houses together, but to also build community with the team.

Habitat’s dedication to ending the cycle of poverty through providing safe, accessible housing and commitment to recycling construction materials is right in line with our own ethos. As a company, we believe in the power data and technology can have to help uphold housing safety standards and promote transparency in real estate transactions. Which is why we’ve partnered with Impact Hub Austin’s Affordable Housing Accelerator, a city-wide collaboration to help develop innovative new solutions to tackle the city’s housing affordability crisis. We also participate in community clean-up efforts, operate out of eco-friendly offices, and have partnered with Code2College in their effort to increase the number of girls, underrepresented students of color, and low-income students who enter college and careers in STEM.
